  • TITLE:   Student Experience Associate

    LOCATION: Rwanda, Bugesera

    TEAM: Student Life

    CONTRACT LENGTH: Two Years

     

    ROLE PURPOSE:

     

    The Student Experience Associate supports the implementation of student wellness activities and community engagement programs that enrich the non-academic student experience. The Associate plays a practical, hands-on role in organizing wellness sessions, coordinating student participation in community outreach, assisting with school events, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of wellness and engagement-related programs.

     At GGAST, we foster a positive learning environment that prioritizes student success.

    To reach our mission, the school is looking for an Associate to support the Director of Student Life in the implementation of student life initiatives and welfare.

    The ideal candidate for this role at GGAST should have a background in programme and office administration, and have an excellent eye for detail, be able to draft documents and project manage both short- and long-term projects.

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

    1) Provide administration support to the Director of Student Life in the following project and programme areas: 

    • Assist in organizing wellness sessions, including logistics for workshops, talks, and health-related activities.

    • Maintain a schedule of community service activities and ensure students are informed and signed up.

    • Provide logistical support for student outreach activities (transport, materials, supervision schedules).

    • Support preparation and setup for key student life events such as orientation, wellness weeks, and celebration days.

    • Support the planning and execution of student council and student leadership activities.

    • Assist in compiling student feedback and evaluations after programs and events.

    • Maintain accurate contact lists for community partners and assist in coordinating schedules with them.

    • Coordinate extracurricular clubs, service programs, and student-led wellness initiatives.

     

    2. Office management

    • Provide day-to-day support to the Director of Student Life, managing calendars and projects.

    • Maintain wellness program schedules, reports, and evaluations.

    • Prepare documentation and presentations for internal and external stakeholders under the supervision of the Director of Student Life

    Degree in Business Administration or similar (essential)

    ●      Experienced (3+) years in project management project manager and office administration preferably in a school setting.

     

    ●      Experience in managing events, diverse programs and multiple time bound activities

     

    ●      Ability to manage and motivate self and others

     

    ●      Excellent communication skills at all levels of management

     

    ●      Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, and project management platforms

You should demonstrate high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching, especially in the classroom, clubs, and sports. You must devise comprehensive, dynamic work and lesson plans to challenge students and promote engagement. Additionally, you should pay attention to each student's performance and provide additional support when necessary to ensure each student can thrive.

    ●      At least five (5) years of experience teaching in a diversified and student-centred teaching and learning environment.

    ●      Experience in working as part of a faculty to design cross-cutting schemes of work and lesson plans that promote excellence and support students to reach their full potential in all areas of their academic and social development.

    ●      Demonstrable understanding of key trends and developments in national and international education.

    ●      Demonstrable ability to lead and develop high-calibre students from a range of socio-economic backgrounds.

    ●      Strong record of accomplishment in developing high-performing learners and creating classroom environments that encourage leadership and peer review approaches to learning.

    ●      Ability to manage and motivate self and others.

    ●      Innovative approach to teaching and learning as demonstrated by a broad range of adaptable teaching styles and methods.

    ·       Teach with a focus on the science and theory behind fitness, helping students understand the health benefits of regular physical activity and participation in sports.

    ·       Conduct physical education assessments through structured activities and grade students' performance based on clear, objective criteria.

    ·       Track students’ progress in different physical education and sports-related competencies.

    ·       Guide students in setting and achieving realistic physical health and fitness goals, supporting lifelong healthy habits.

    ·       Collaborate with other educators to promote a holistic learning environment that nurtures students’ physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

    ·       Deliver lessons on essential health-related topics such as first aid, personal safety, and wellness.

    ·       Identify and support students with individual learning or physical challenges, adapting activities to meet diverse needs.

    ·       Mentor students with athletic potential and provide career guidance related to sports and physical education

    The IT Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining the school's information technology infrastructure, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems, supporting staff and students with technical issues, and implementing technology-based educational solutions.     Roles and Responsibilities:

    Network & Infrastructure Management:

    • Maintain and troubleshoot the school's network, including Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, servers, and hardware.

      Hardware & Software Support:

    • Install, configure, and maintain computers, printers, projectors, and other peripherals.

    • Provide technical support to staff and students, resolving hardware and software issues promptly.

      Educational Technology Integration:

      • Assist teachers in integrating digital tools and platforms into their lessons.

      • Manage learning management systems (LMS) and other educational software.

      Data Management & Security:

      • Safeguard student and staff data.

      • Backup and restore data as necessary.

        Training & Development:

      • Conduct training sessions for staff and students on new software, tools, and cybersecurity practices.

      Procurement & Maintenance:

      • Coordinate procurement of IT equipment and ensure timely maintenance and upgrades.

      Documentation & Reporting:

      • Maintain records of hardware, software licenses, and support activities.

      • Prepare reports on IT system performance and issues.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILL

    • Experience:

      • Minimum of 4 years of experience in managing IT systems, preferably in an educational environment.

      • Experience in network administration, hardware troubleshooting, and software support.

    • Skills:

      • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and network systems.

      • Familiarity with educational technology tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).

      • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
