Ms. Sylvia Nyagato
Sylvia Nyagato is a Computer Science teacher and Matron at Gashora Girls Academy. Sylvia has a bachelor’s degree in Science with Education from University of Rwanda, College of Education. Sylvia has also acted as a translator in Compassion International Rwanda, when she was still studying at university.
Sylvia has gained much from teaching and taking good care of the students as a matron. This experience helped her to deal with different challenging situations which promoted her critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills. Sylvia is a mentor of two clubs (Girl Up Club and Film Making club). It is a fair prospect that she came across all what changed her and all what contributed to the better life she is living now. Her hobbies consist of singing, playing football, and jogging.
Mr. Bernard Tuyishime
Bernard joined GGAST in March of 2016 as the Kinyarwanda teacher. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Education in English and Literature from Mount Kenya University, as well as holds a diploma of Education from Kigali Institute of Education (KIE), where he studied French and English. Additionally, Bernard holds a professional certificate of secondary education in the following languages: Kinyarwanda, French, English and the Foundation of Education. After joining Gashora he found his passion for the Rwandan culture and his native language, Kinyarwanda. He is proud to be promoting Rwandan culture through teaching Kinyarwanda.
